Minding A Complex Store
Situation
A multi-billion-dollar foods company was working to digest a recent dairy acquisition by converting the purchased company's financial system from BPCS to Timberline. While the parent's people were well equipped to lead the shift, someone would have to mind the store during the conversion. And that backfill could not itself become a problem.
Solution
The parent company asked Kforce to provide 11 consultants to pick up regular finance and accounting functions. Within a week, Kforce had found the right matches, and 10 days later the consultants had picked up the parent's system and were maintaining the operation.
Outcome
While regular staff was installing and debugging the new system, Kforce was operating accounts payable and receivable, billing, spreadsheet projections, order entry, inventory audits, and even some customer service functions. The company felt so much comfort in letting Kforce run things while it tested its transition, it is considering hiring the bulk of the consultants on a permanent basis.
